Wednesday afternoon June 11, 2008

WELL, I had to see for myself - sorry God, but he looks great - a little thinner and still thinks Don Walter is funny - but resting peacefully and waking when people come and go. He tried really hard to laugh and I think he surprised himself. The doctors said they have NEVER seen anything like this and they are continually amazed. There will be a new CT scan tomorrow. Thanks so very much for the cards, words of concern, visits, posts on the blog. They all mean so very much to Don and the family. Don enjoyed hearing the cards read to him today so keep those words of encouragment coming and of course the prayers for MORE miracles every day. We have also be able to pray with other families in the waiting room. It is not a happy place. We visit in the halls and elevators and I assure them we would continue to pray for them and their loved ones even though Don is no longer in ICU. His progress, the witness of people praying together have a great testimony to those around him. God is already using this for good.

I continue to pray and want to thank everyone else out there for their prayers as well. I love my Uncle Donnie and Aunt Barbie immensely. I am not quite ready to let any of my loved ones go. I continue to pray for strength and patience for the entire family and health and healing for Uncle Don. Though I have not been able to visit, they are frequently in my thoughts. I have a fairytale book given to me by them when I was a little girl that I read to my youngest daughter almost every day. As I read from that very book to my two older children when they were young. The book itself has seen its better days however, it carries with it the love they have for me and I share that love with my little ones. (Some not so little anymore.) Reminders of them are near me every day. Aunt Barbara made me a ceramic rabbit cotton ball holder also a long time ago and that rabbit sits ever watchful on my dresser!
I love you all so very much! I am praying for you with love and hope in my heart.

Dear Barb and Don,
We trust you received our voice message via Kathy and Don that we have been praying for you. We showed Don's photo on this site with our granddaughter who immediately recognized Don as the kind man who took the time to show her his Paints and their newborns. It was a wonderful time for her and is tucked away in the "precious memories" category. Thanks for being faithful to God in the litle things in your life as well as the seemingly bigger things. I often sing one of those old-fashioned hymns..."Great is thy Faithfulness." I wish I could hear Barb's beautiful voice sing it now and know that you are feeling His faithfulness just now.
Sharing in His love and care,
Bill and Brenda Miller
